You have the trucks and the techs. What you do not have is certainty about where next month's calls come from. We fix that — and we work only with plumbing, HVAC and electrical companies, so we start out already knowing your business.
The problem isn't effort. It's attribution.
Most heating and cooling companies we meet are not doing nothing. They are doing five things, through three vendors, with no way to tell which one produced a booked job. So the good months feel like luck and the slow months feel like panic.
Chad Warhold described his version of it plainly before he came to us: he was already paying for SEO, and his company was so far down in Google that it was effectively invisible. He wasn't starting from zero spend. He was starting from spend that produced nothing he could see.
Great home service companies should not lose to louder competitors because nobody translated digital marketing into plain English for them.
Why HVAC is not like other local SEO
- Demand is seasonal. Rankings are not. Pages that rank in June were earned in February. We build cooling content in winter and heating content in summer, so you are already ranked when the weather turns.
- Your highest-volume searches are not your highest-value jobs. "AC repair near me" brings traffic. System replacements and maintenance agreements pay for the trucks. We rank for both, and route them differently.
- Maintenance plans change the math. A plan member is worth years of revenue, not one ticket. We build the pages, offers and follow-up that turn a repair call into a membership.
- You are competing with consolidators. In most markets you are now up against private equity-backed groups with real budgets. Beating them takes local depth they cannot produce from a corporate template.
The Accelerated Growth Model, applied to HVAC

Step 01 — Drive Leads. Search Engine Optimization built around your service area: Google Business Profile optimization for the map pack, a page for every system and every town you serve — AC repair, AC installation, furnace repair, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, indoor air quality, commercial HVAC, maintenance plans — seasonal content planned a season ahead, and local link building with real local authority. Paid Search and Local Service Ads where the math supports them.
Step 02 — Maximize Conversions. A conversion-optimized website, Reputation Management so your ratings support your rankings, and Conversion Amp — our speed-to-lead automation that makes sure the leads we generate become booked jobs instead of missed calls.
Step 03 — Optimize Results. Call tracking on every channel, a real-time ROI dashboard, and a monthly strategic review where we scale what is working and cut what is not. In plain English, with the numbers in front of you.
Don't underrate the map
One documented Paul The Plumber reporting period is worth studying, because it shows where the leads actually come from. Monthly lead flow went from 285 to 468 while average cost per lead fell from $36.74 to $20.48. In the 468-lead snapshot, 208 leads came from Google Maps, 141 from organic search and 119 from paid search.
The largest single source was not paid anything. It was the map. That is why Google Business Profile optimization is not a checkbox in our program — it is a revenue channel.

What this looks like for HVAC companies
Cardinal Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric — Sun Prairie, WI
Marketing manager Andrew Bonds treats Google Ads, Local Service Ads and SEO as strengths of the business, and watches cost per lead, cost per acquisition and ROI before deciding what to spend. In a February 2026 interview he said Cardinal was increasing its Google Ads budget roughly 10–15% per month because the returns justified it.
Notice the order of operations. They didn't start with "how little can we spend?" They started with the economics.
Warhold Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning
Chad came to us after paying for SEO that produced no visible lead flow. After the switch he saw trackable leads increase within a month or two, the company consistently appeared on page one or two for the searches that mattered, and he reported income up dramatically.
He and his team still had to answer the calls and run the jobs — marketing alone never causes all of a company's growth. What changed is that the demand became visible and trackable.
Jerry Brittingham A/C & Heat — Daytona Beach, FL
The phones were light. We reviewed the lead-generation mix and added Local Service Ads, and William Brittingham reported an immediate difference in calls and Google leads. He also described their email campaigns producing calls, emails and booked appointments they could see in the analytics — a useful reminder that no single channel carries the whole system.
The Meridian Company — East Lansing, MI
Craig Phillipitch's company had plateaued: phones not ringing, visibility flat, no confidence the incumbent was solving it. After the change he described strong visibility across most search categories and said the company almost doubled in size — at times turning off paid search because it could not handle the call volume.
He was careful not to credit all of that to marketing, calling our work a major component rather than the whole story. We quote him that way on purpose.
All figures above come from named client interviews and are documented in How to Triple Your Sales by Getting Your Digital Marketing Right.
We only work with contractors
Plumbing & HVAC SEO was founded by Josh Nelson and Dean Iodice to do one thing: get home service contractors to the top of search and keep them there. We are not a full-service agency that also takes HVAC clients. The niche is the entire company.
Not ready to talk? Read the book first.
Josh Nelson's How to Triple Your Sales by Getting Your Digital Marketing Right lays out this entire system, written for plumbing, HVAC and electrical contractors and fully updated for 2026. Read it online, listen to the audiobook in the truck, or download the PDF.
It comes with the Growth Training Library: 10 recorded workshops, an HVAC keyword research tool, the Marketing Plan Builder, a Google Business Profile action plan and the lead-gap calculator. Delivered by email, instantly. No call required.

Four questions to ask whoever handles your marketing
- How many booked jobs came from organic search last month — not visits, jobs?
- What is our cost per booked call, by channel?
- Which service pages produce revenue, and which produce nothing?
- What are you doing so AI search results recommend us?
If those answers are not immediate and specific, that is the problem.
