The owner had become the marketing department
Billy describes a situation nearly every growing contractor hits: the company outgrew what he could handle himself. He was doing the basics — and the basics stopped being enough. What he needed wasn’t a bigger budget. It was a professional website and someone whose actual job was to watch the program, keep track of it, and handle the tracking and training.
What actually happened
That middle number is the one to sit with. Anyone can buy more leads by spending more money. Getting 66% more of them out of the same budget is a different achievement — it means the program got more efficient, not just bigger. The mix included Local Service Ads, which Billy says produced an immediate difference in calls and Google leads once launched, alongside SEO, paid search and email to their existing database.
The database was already worth money
Billy also describes something most contractors never measure: when they send an email campaign to their customer list, they can watch the calls, emails and booked appointments show up in the analytics right away. Those are customers they already paid to acquire once. Reaching them again costs almost nothing.
What more calls actually bought
“The impact for our company has really come in the confidence — knowing we've got customers coming in, that we've got the phones ringing. That gives us the confidence to hire on more technicians, to purchase more vans, really to grow our company and give everybody else a chance to grow with our company.”

Confidence is not a soft metric in this business. It is the thing that lets an owner sign a truck lease in February for the summer he believes is coming.
