Blogging For Plumbing Companies

blogging-for-plumbersIf you are the owner of a Plumbing Company, you may find that the world of blogging for business owners is a world that you want to be a part of, and should be a part of.  Blogging is a great way to get the word out to consumers about your product or service, and it can even be useful for inspiring employee loyalty and helping you keep your workers at peak morale. If you are looking for a way to take your business to the next level, consider what starting a blog might be able to do for you.
Having a company blog for your plumbing business has a lot in common with all other types of blogging, but it has its own unique pitfalls and strengths. The key to having a successful blog as a plumbing company is keeping your goals clear and concrete at every step of your blogging adventure. It can be all to easy to get sidetracked, especially if you are just learning about the exciting possibilities of blogging technology, but if you want your blog to succeed you need to stay focused. Write up a plan for how often you will update, how you will promote your blog and retain readers, whether you will feature photographs or video, and other aspects of your blog, and then stick to it with the same kind of determination that you used when you built your company.
The most important thing about managing a company blog for your plumbing company, is to have a goal in mind. What is the main purpose of your company blog? Below are some ideas to start you thinking:

  1. To talk about industry topics and news
  2. To discuss new trends in the plumbing industry
  3. Ideas for homeowners to...
  4. To promote a non-profit you support
Notice how all these topics have the advantage to generate interest to a certain demographic, these topics also portray your plumbing company as experts in the industry. They are not self promoting topics. The one thing you should avoid on your plumbing blog in self promotion. Pimping your company serves no interest to anyone. People read blogs because they are interested in a subject or want to learn about a specific topic. They don't read blogs so they can get $25.00 off a toilet installation.
It's a great time to start a blog for your plumbing company, it's one of the things that will put you in the public eye and might be that little bit that separates you form your competition.

After 2 standipe overflows while washing clothes in a new washer, I tried to find a product that would stop my washer BEFORE a flood could occur. I couldn't find anything, so I designed one for myself. It's been in service for abour 6 months with no falures (no floods). Is the market large enough for me to sell these units? if so, how would you suggest I reach potential customers?
