Social mediaSocial Media is a two-way communication tool. When developing a relationship you don’t want to be power hunger. Companies make deals because of relationship they develop through engagement and interaction.  The use of social media is the essential aspect of any brand, but you don’t want to develop a one-way conversation.
Creating a two-way communication allows for interaction and engagement. Don’t start a social media profile to just discuss “YOU.” It is not the “All About Me Show” people want to value the content shared to create engagement.  The Pareto Principle started the 80/20 rule stated on Investopedia “20% of invested input is responsible for 80% of the results obtained.” That can be broken down on social media to the 70-20-10 rule.

70 % Value & Relevant Content

You need to be a trusted resource. Don’t create content that is a lie.  If there is no trust, there is no long term relationship.Make sure to add value to your brand. The ideas posted should range from relevant business tips, local events in the community. Be creative with your content.

Engage with people in conversation about things you’re passionate about it leaves lasting memories. Time to forget about the business and get to know people through dialogue. Make sure to share other’s ideas.

10 % Self-Promotion

Tell them about your company. DON’T MAKE YOUR SALE PITCH YOUR IDENTITY! No one wants to be around the person that only talk about sales every day.  Remember it’s only 10% of what is posted should be promotional. Get ready to post new products, sales, events, coupons, showcase any discount codes.
Being yourself is essential. It’s important to make your brand more personal through developing a two-way conversation on social media. When creating a platform you want to engage and interact with individuals and companies who share your interests and passion. You want to create long lasting relationships. “Just be yourself.
